On the campus of the University of Missouri ar two great computer architecture spaces, the A.P. colour Chapel and the main tower of Memorial Union. These spaces argon aesthetically pleasing and they also countenance a lock at the University. The two have many similarities in their aureole and mood, but they have many differences as well. The two offer really different functions and the elements used are drastically different.
The A.P. Green Chapel is a functional space that provides its users with a beautiful and enjoyable experience. The first noticeable features of the space are the retentive wooden beams that support the structure. Starting on the sides of the walls and expanding to the top of the spring ceiling the wooden beams add a sense of remnant to the room. The beams outline nearly every edge of the space. The use of vivid wooden beams provides a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The walls are a white color that furrows with the inseparable color of the wooden beams. This contrast creates sharp and distinct lines throughout the space. Along with the beams, the pews are make up of a wood. This creates a sense of balance to the room. The c over is a dark neutral color that brings out the natural color of the wood. The glistening used in the Chapel is very pleasing as well.
Tall windows on the sides of the space suffer daylight to enter the space, while old cathedral styled light fixtures are used to provide artificial lighting over the pews. The lighting is adequate for reading, but does not provide more more than that. The controlled lighting gives the Chapel a quiet and high-pitched atmosphere.
The main tower of Memorial Union has vaulted ceilings that provide depth and height to the space. The vault is built with cream-colored stone and bricks that are uniform throughout the entire building. The area that contains the vault is the tallest disunite of the entire structure.
