The goal of this study was to see if there were any long differences in junction kinetics of the hip, knee, and ankle in decline, deviate and neutral put outning. In this study, there were 21 healthy joggers between the ages of 18 and 36 that were used. These participants were to run an eight and one one-half minute mile at seven miles per hours on a four degree incline, a four degree decline, and a everyday level, so in total, triple miles were being run by the participants. To monitor joint motion, retro-reflective markers were placed on the former and posterior iliac crests, the squinty femoral condyles, lateral mid-thighs, lateral mid-shanks, lateral malleoli, posterior calcanei, and second metatarsal heads.
During the experiment, ground reception force data was taken and so was kinematic data through with(predicate) a 10-camera motion capture system. These two things distinguished the movements of apiece joint and also the force each joint is producing during decline, incline, and normal running phases.
The end results for each joint was that during all one-third phases of the running experiment, no major differences were recorded in regards to joint movement. For example, the hip was tested for flexion, adduction, and internal rotation and all three were relatively equal during the three phases of the run. The knee was tested for flexion, a varus moment, and also internal rotation. Finally, the ankle was tested for dorsiflexion, eversion, and internal rotation. wholly data regarding these two joints came back similar as well, with no defining differences between them. In regards to ground reaction force, measurements were taken anterior-posteriorly, medial-laterally, and vertically. All three of these measurements came out equally as well.
