I showered, threw on a fresh white t-shirt and took off to schooltime. I brood ab pop 10
minutes in walking distance from school so I would always walk. This was a daily
routine since I was a freshman.
I was known for refusing rides from friends as I walked to school. Maybe because
I get a little more want to learn in school if I have earthyly type of exercise in the
morning. My mom would always set up me to take the bus but I didnt like the wait. Instead
of waiting 5 minutes for the bus Id be more than half way to school. I would always leave
the house with my mom relative me to be careful. We do live in a rough neighborhood.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I have older cousins and uncles from a street junto
so I would always feel comfortable if anyone tried to mess with me. Its non that Im a
coward and cant fight my own battles. Its just that in manual Arts High School, most
of the students are either affiliated with, or are gangsters, who keep their reputation
going by out tally and beating their targets.
From my house to school, I walked through two dissimilar gang territories. My
side,which is Harpys territory (my cousins gang). And the other side which
is Crips territory. These two couple gangs have been going at it since before I was born.
nightspot years ago, my cousin witnessed the murder of his friend Bryan Verdesoto(R.I.P).
The Crips were the shooters because they said, Fuck Harpys!This is Crip gang! and
unloaded 6 shots from a 38 magnum.Three shots hit Bryan in the chest killing him
