The Israelites had become oppressed to bondage by the Pharaohs of Egypt besides yet they were the chosen people of God/ Yahweh. Yahweh is the warrior and king; his people, for who he fights, are those oppressed at the lower ends of the power structures, marginalized within the established structures of this world and its earthly king. (Humphreys, 1990) For it is Yahweh that uses Moses to guide the dry land from bondage across the Reed Sea as they submit forward the covenant agreement. The Covenant agreement is confirmed through the Decalogue, the code of Laws, the instructions for the building of the Tabernacle and duties of the priest.
The journey into Egypt was for the survival during the days of famine. For four hundred years the Israelites were enslaved and subjected to the rule of the Egyptians. In fear, the Pharaoh legitimate that all male Hebrew children be slain, but Moses would not see this death. For it was Moses who grow up as an Egyptian prince but was chosen to deliver the Nation of Israel out of bondage. There were tenner plagues (Exodus 7 11) that were sent on Egypt because Pharaoh harden his heart. But it was the pull round plague that was used for the establishment of the Passover.
