Cinematic siblings Peter and Bobby Farrelly are certainly no strangers to the world of mindless and retarded movies. The big screen brothers have previously demonstrated their tasting for box office banality (Theres Something somewhat Mary, Kingpin, Dumb and Dumber, etc.) to the tune of inexplicable achiever where low rent humor and cheap chuckles are welcomed with all-encompassing opened arms. So why would there be each surprises that filmmaking fratboys would decide to pay homage to the nostalgic kings of nonsenseâ€"Moe, Larry and frizzly?
In the Farrellys co-directed and co-written labored lunacy of love The Three Stooges, the duad focus their inspired nyuk nyuk nyuk nuances on the revered twitchy triad and their foolhearty slapstick antics of yesteryear.
This is a modern-day revival of the legendary comical trey that planted guilty pleasure smiles on the faces of generations since the heyday of their uncontrollable and brainless shenanigans dating back to the golden age one-reel shorts. For fiery fans of Moe and Curly Howard and Larry Fine, the Farrellys The Three Stooges may be satisfying profuse to recall the zany zingers, pallid puns and eye-poking/face-slapping silliness with noted aplomb.
