Abstract
This paper testament explore two contemporary focussing models. These models be used as professional counseling techniques to ply help to individuals to achieve not only a dispassion based lifestyle, but also how to enhance their lives. In this way, these individuals will become more active in cohesive union living. They will also become more responsible residents who set up to the tax base and viability of the state and community.
Many mental health and substance abuse professionals have used psychoanalytic therapy, conducted by Sigmund Freud and Rational Emotive Behavior therapy and behavior therapy (Albert Ellis, A.T. Beck) to treat the clients they assist. These treatments argon based largely on insight, unconscious motivation, and reconstruction of the constitution.
Freuds enamors continue to influence contemporary practice. Many of his basic concepts are still part of the foundation on which other theorists shape and develop.
Freuds psychoanalytic system is a model of personality development and an approach to psychotherapy.
He called attention to psychodynamic factors that motivate behavior, management on the role of the unconscious, and developing the first therapeutic procedures for sagaciousness and modifying the structure of ones basic character.
Freuds view of human nature is deterministic. Our behaviors are determined by wild forces, unconscious motivations, and biological and instinctual drives that evolve through key psychosexual stages in the first six years of life. (Theory and Practice of Counseling and Psychotherapy 2009, p. 61). According to Freud, the personality consists of three systems, the Id, the Ego, and the Superego.
