Reconstruction was meant to bring the country back unitedly which in some meanss it did but in that location be many things that went terribly slander with the now freed break ones backs. What the freed men wanted was to beat their life back to start a family and to cash in ones chips and thrive off their own crops, to get jobs and to start dungeon their life the way they did until the were forced into sla very. So many things went wrong for the freed men because they lacked a simple education. They tried to pass the southern homestead acts to help the slaves get land. The Freedmens bureau tried to take a crap schools to teach the freedmen. But in the end things just didnt go their way. The real way Reconstruction was a very brutal and not so reconstructive way.
The Freed slaves were tricked into signing pledges to work for their previous slave owners if they gave them a piece of his land. But there was no way for a slave to read the contract with out a formal education.
